Back in Training

Having a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and Chiropractor as a husband is advantageous. Not only is he my trainer, but he watches the kids while I train. I finally realized that if I want to run (which I do), I have to do it in the morning BEFORE the kids wake up, and before Brandon goes to work. I have basically until 5:30am. Bran gets me up in the morning and sends me out. Right now, I am just running 3 times a week. He has me running 30 minutes at a very comfortable pace. I love hearing the birds and watching the city wake up while I run. It's very refreshing and gets me started right for the day.

There is a group of ladies in the ward training for a triathlon, but finding time/money to swim is a challenge. Instead, I will train for the Akron Half Marathon. Brandon ran the Akron Marathon last year, which is tempting as you get free Brooks shoes if you finish. Tempting....but I better keep it simple.

White Peacock

I remember Mrs. Peacock from Clue to be the blue piece. But, at the zoo we saw a beautiful WHITE peacock. It was completely white. Unfortunately I didn't have my camera, so I have no proof. We were walking down the path from the polar bears and saw this fascinating bird blocking the path. He had his feathers all spread out and seemed agitated. He had no where to go. Both sides of the path were blocked with people flashing pictures. The sides of the path had heavy vegetation. And he was completely blocking the path with his feathers all out. Luckily he turned, and we crept by.

That was Elle's absolute favorite thing from the zoo. She had a list of 5 favorite things, but sneaking past the white peacock was tops. Bryn was terrified of the aquarium. She was not expecting to see fish and other creatures swimming right beside her. I probably could have prepped her more for that one. Having the zoo 5 miles away is nice. Within 15 minutes were we AT the zoo. I love cities!

Cry Baby

One of my biggest concerns of the 3 kids transition was bedtime. I was sure it would be more difficult. I was wrong. The more cranky or sad Wade is, the faster the girls fall asleep. I don't understand it. I'll be trying to hold/read a book in my right hand and holding/bouncing Wade in my left and the girls fall asleep. It's great.

Today Bryn almost instantaneously fell asleep with Wade crying. I 'tried' to read Elle 'Beauty and The Beast', but eventually looked over at her, and she was totally out. My advice to you: If you're having troubles getting your kids to sleep, put a crying baby in the room(you can borrow one of mine). Your kids will be asleep in minutes.

Side Note: The post person delivered the wrong mail to our house today. I don't live on Beckert Ave!

Crazy April

So, this month has been a little crazy for us.

First, we packed up the truck for our move. Then it was Wade's baby blessing.

The next day, Brandon graduated. Hooray!!!

That evening we moved into our new house.

Eleventeen

This morning Elle was doing a counting dance that Bryn just couldn't get right. It's really quite easy. Put your hand out as though motioning someone to STOP and then say a number. Alternate hands while jumping and saying more numbers. The numbers can be sequential, random or fake. For some reason Eleventeen kept popping up.

A Dark Horse Emerges

So...Jodie tells me about 6 times a week that I can post on "her blog." I keep telling her that I have nothing to say, but here we are in the middle of the world's greatest tournament festivities I have to say something.

The internet is killing me.

We don't have cable. Our TV is in a closet which is often closed. We watch movies on our computer, as well as the occasional television show. Last Thursday I had an apiphany in which I recalled that last year during March Maddness I was able to watch a few of the games during Conference Championship Week online. I ventured to CBS.com to find out if I might be able to get a few games, or a little something to get me the fix I needed. Well....

It turns out that the NCAA is broadcasting EVERY SINGLE GAME OF THE NCAA TOURNAMENT ABSOLUTELY FREE ONLINE! (You should have been screaming by the end, it's all caps and exclamation point) Last Thursday games began at noon and didn't end until after Midnight. This was repeated on Friday, and Saturday, and almost the same on Sunday.

With a new baby in the house this was the last thing I needed. A reason not to sleep. It has been incredible watching the different games and, although Elle's pick to win it all (Sienna) is out, there are some great games to come. I can't wait until tomorrow night to see what will happen. It's going to be an incredible weekend.

Greatest Secret Ever
